Once upon a time, I heard a guy talking about wanting to strangle his scuba diving instructor on NPR’s Snap Judgement. I don’t scuba dive but I was enthralled with the story, so much so I stayed in my parked car for ten minutes just to hear the end. This was “storytelling” and I was hooked. When the Battle Creek Enquirer launched the Mosaic Storytelling Showcase in 2016, I asked to be a part of it. It has turned into a long-term relationship. You know, one where I facilitate workshops, circle story swap dates on my calendar, and live happily ever after.

Mosaic Storytelling Showcase: Detours
October 17, 2019, at the First Congregational Church in Battle Creek, Michigan
Laugh, cry and be amazed at the next Mosaic Storytelling Showcase. The theme is “detours,” as storytellers share pivotal rerouting moments from their own lives. Mosaic brings together our community with the human act of storytelling. The personal stories we tell around the kitchen are polished up and presented as good as anything heard at The Moth. Take a detour from your normal routine and join us on October 17th. Tickets are $5 and sold at the door.
